Esther Beech

Esther P. Beech, 83 of Chatom, passed away on April 9, 2023, at her home. She was born October 14, 1939, to parents Sallie McCray and John M. Patrick. Esther worked and retired from the Alabama Department of Human Resources. She loved quilting, crocheting, and needle point, playing cards with her group of friends and spending time with her loving family. Esther had been an active and faithful member of Fairhope Baptist Church for many years.
Preceded in death by her husband Charles William Beech Sr., her parents, and siblings Juanita Bailey, Urcel Austin, John M. Patrick Jr., and Audrey Beebe.
Survived by her sons Charles William Beech Jr. of Highland Park, IL and Dr. Keith (Summer) Beech of Chatom, grandchildren Anna Lin Beech and Logan Beech of Chatom, siblings Blewett Patrick, Manly Patrick, Sallie McMillan, Jane (Charles) Walls, and Ronald (Gloria) Patrick. Also many nieces, nephews and extended family. A special thanks to her devoted caretakers Wanda Hill and Kristen Arcenaux.
Pallbearers will be Doc Godwin, Roger Carlisle, Henry Ross, Erick Beech, Dave Marshall, and Craig Bodiford. Honorary pallbearers are Burnell Goodwin, Phillip Bush, and the Ladies Card Playing Group in Chatom.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 with a visitation one hour prior to services at Fairhope Baptist Church in Tibbie. Bro William Bodiford officiating and Lathan Funeral Home conducting. Online condolences may be shared at www.lathanfuneralhome.com
