Eva Ard

Eva Katherine Ard, 92, a homemaker of Chatom, AL passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Washington County Hospital. She was born on May 28, 1924 to Harry Parnell and Sadie Kate Kirkland Parnell in the Cedar Creek Community. Eva loved her church, Alabama football, collard greens, grits and cornbread. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Jackson Ard; son, James Murvin Ard and a daughter, Emily Jeanette Ard. She is survived by two sons, Harry Jackson (Bonnie) Ard of Hawkins, TX and Timothy Wayne Ard of Chatom, AL; six grandchildren: Amber (Danny) Couch, Ashley (Kevin) Barton, Lori (Craig) Bova, Mike Clements, Mark Clements and Mandy Clements; seven great-grandchildren: Hailey Couch, Preston Bova, Taylor Couch, Libby Bova, Dusty Ray Couch, Reid Jackson Barton and Joseph Barton; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Ard of Andrews, TX. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Chatom at 2PM with Rev. Jerry Roberson officatiating. Burial will follow in the Tibbie Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday evening from 5PM-7PM. Active pallbearers will be Roy Donald, Perry Dickey, Henry Dumas, Carl Craig, Steve Grimes and Billy Odom.
