Evelyn Uptain

Evelyn Elizabeth "Libby" Uptain, 80, of Jackson, passed away at her home on February 8, 2024. Libby was born on October 29, 1943. She was an incredibly talented woman; she enjoyed playing piano and painting. Libby saw beauty in the world around her and enjoyed tending her flowers, birdwatching and simply being out in nature. This love of the outdoors inspired many of her works of art and her lovely paintings grace many walls throughout the community.

Libby is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Elizabeth Griffith and her husband, John Uptain.

She is survived by her son, David Stackhouse (Beth); grandson, Holt Stackhouse; great grandson, Rowan Stackhouse; sisters, Coralie Toomey (John), Lisa Hafizi (Bahram), and Jane Waite (Leland) as well as many other family members and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Rockville Baptist Church with Brother Mark Dunn officiating.
