Evelyn Turner Williams, 90, of Chatom, passed away February 8, 2019 at the Washington County Nursing Home. She was born October 9, 1928 to Nathan and Alma Turner in Fruitdale. A member of the First Baptist Church of Chatom, she had been an active member of the Gray Ladies Club. She had also been a member of the Washington County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Washington County Cattlewomen's Association. She served for many years as the dietician for the Washington County Hospital and Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarenton Williams and one grandson.
She is survived by her children, Belinda (Stewart) Jackson, Andy (Peggy) Williams, Ruth (Sammie) Reynolds, Burk (Lora Lynn) Williams; sister, Una Horshok, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with the Rev. Jerry Roberson officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Chatom Town Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Billy Williams, Brandon McFarland, Matt Williams, Bruce Williams, Daniel Galbraith and Yancy Reynolds.
