Fanny Mitchem

Fanny Johnson Mitchem, 87, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Myrtlewood on June 14, 1933 to George W. Johnson and Archie Belle Palmer Johnson. A homemaker, she was a member of the Jackson Church of Christ and the Red Hat Club. She enjoyed visiting with her many friends at Jackson Health Care Facility, reading and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy C. Mitchem Sr. and siblings, Dorothy Smith, Sam Johnson, T.C. Johnson, Clifton Johnson, Clarence Johnson, Gay Johnson and Cullen Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Yolande Flo Heison, Royer Mitchem, Danny (Lynn) Mitchem; grandchildren, Jessica (Justin) Snyder, Brittney (Ye) Tun, Eric (Cecilia) Mitchem, Chelsey Mitchem, Courtney Mitchem; great-grandchildren, Bella Tun, Elsa Wikstrand-Mitchem and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with Bro. Stacy Harrell officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Ron Baggett, Thomas Few, Keith Higginbotham, Kenny Reeves, Ron Smith and Bruce Todd.
Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Atchison, Jessica Dawson, Jeanne Hicks Faust, Cindy Jones, Charles Pritchett, Kristi Rainer, Gaynell Walker and Steve Williams.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations in her memory be made to Jackson Church of Christ, Child Haven or Pilots for Christ.
