Ferrell Mills

Rev. Ferrell Blondell Mills, 88, of Chatom, Alabama passed away at his home January 3, 2021. Born April 29, 1932 to parents, William Robert and Frances Lorena (Curenton) Mills. Rev. Mills started at the young age of 17 sharing the gospel and following the path towards the Lord. Graduating from Immanuel Bible College in Sharpsburg, Ga. with his Doctorate Degree. Dr. Mills pastored many churches throughout Alabama, Florida, even in Alaska, where he served for two terms as president of the Alaska Baptist Convention. He loved his home state of Alabama, Alabama football, his friends and most dearly his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Willie Grey Mills; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Michelle Mills; sister, Genelle Mills Carpenter and grandson, Paul Adam (Kip) Williams.
He is survived by his wife of eight years, Linda Mills and their family; children, Debra (Mic) Keating, Alan (Freda) Mills, Cynthia (Paul) Williams, Mark (Jill) Mills, Beverly (Essam) Youssef, Kim (Bobby John) Dearmon, Lisa Guy, Jackie (Scott) Giles; grandchildren, Michael (Taylor) Keating, Garrett (Michelle) Mills, Jennifer Mills, Stacy (Nick) Dorsey, April (Kevin) Fethke, Jeremy (Kristy) Mills, Michael (Tabitha) Mills, Jordan Mills, Josiah Mills, Kevin (Carrie) Dearmon, Josh (Andrea) Guy, Allen (Audrianna) Guy, Tanner Giles; Wayne (Michelle) Johnson, whom he had raised as his own son; twenty great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Mills, Bobby Dearmon, Allen Guy, Bobby Carpenter and Kevin Dearmon
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with Bro. Larry Daugherty and Scott Giles officiating. Burial will be at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery in Florala, Alabama.
