Floyd Chapman Middleton, 78, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Covenant Care West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, FL. He was born in Jackson on Thursday, June 10, 1943. He had retired at Boise Cascade and was a member of Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed deer and turkey hunting as well as fishing and was a passionate fan of The University of Alabama football program. He loved spending time with his family and attended all of the activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E.B. "Moon" Middleton, Ernestine Middleton and son, Terry Middleton.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Middleton; children, Brenda Middleton (Danny) Shaper, Deborah (Mike) Lamey, Kim (James Grace) Pugh, Scott (Tresa) Middleton; grandchildren, Steven (Kaitlyn) Middleton, Amanda (Chris) Lambert, Brad (Hali) Boykin, Kirstie (Cody) Gates, Chase Pugh, Taylor (Jordan) Matheson, Tamara (Levi) Worley, Tobie (Kevin) Green; twelve great-grandchildren; siblings, Elbert Middleton, Carole Middleton, Marvin Middleton and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Pastor Jordan Matheson officiating and his brother-in-law, Leo Thomas, Jr., will provide a special prayer at the graveside. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Stave Creek Baptist Cemetery in Jackson with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Steven Middleton, Michael Newton, Chase Pugh, Chuck Pugh, Jeremy Rush and Jim Bob Spence.
