Foula Mittie Harper Purvis, age 98, of the West Bend Community passed away October 5, 2023, at Crown Healthcare in Thomasville, Alabama. She was born on October 31, 1924, in Coffeeville, Alabama to William and Orbie Harper. She married William Monroe Purvis on October 3, 1942. She was a World War II bride, a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Coffeeville.
She is survived by her son, William "Bill" Purvis, and daughter, Rojean Purvis Reid (Harold), two grandsons, Tim Reid (Sheila), Chad Reid (Meg), and three great-grandchildren, Allie Grace, Ayden, and Kelsey Reid; three sisters, Ruby Psycher, Pauline Smiley, and Shirley Smith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Monroe Purvis, Sr., mother, Orbie Harper, father, William Harper, and brothers, Arvie and Elvin Harper.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 9, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with a visitation one hour prior to services. Bro. Benny Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at the Elam Baptist Church Cemetery.
