Frances Ruth Bumpers, 91, of Jackson, passed away on August 6, 2024, peacefully at her home. She was born on April 11, 1933, to her parents Ed and Hattie Bell Stoker. Frances was born in St. Stephens, Alabama. Frances was a member of First Assembly of God in Jackson. Before she married her husband, James Bumpers, she worked at Vanity Fair. Frances loved her flowers gardening. She has won Yard of The Month several times over the years. Frances loved her family and cherished her only grandchild, Jared. She was an animal lover, especially the family cats and dogs.
Preceded in death by her parents and her husband James H. Bumpers, infant brother, James Edward Stoker, Brother William Kelly Stoker, sisters Grace Cornelia Williams, Velma Startling, Adele Seibert, Mary Goldman, and Jewel Lawson.
Survived by her children; son Jimmy Wayne Bumpers and Daughters Cynthia Ann Bumpers Taylor and Elizabeth Darlene Bumpers Sexton, grandson Jared Bumpers, sisters Olene Hockman and Earlene Blosser, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral begins at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplin Shelley Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Lathan Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jared Henson Bumpers, Steve Goldman, Craig Blosser, and Rusty Pace.
