Frankie M. Gibson, 92, of Jackson was welcomed into the arms of Jesus as she entered her heavenly home April 23, 2025. Frankie was born April 3, 1933 to Jesse Frank and Lula McGilberry. A lifelong resident of Clarke County, Frankie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson. She spent 17 years working at Vanity Fair as well as another 19 years owning and sharing delicious treats and a warm atmosphere at Frankie's Bake Shop. Her love of food was one of the many ways she showed her love and witnessed to her community. She spent many years in the kitchen of First Baptist Church of Jackson working to feed parishioners on Wednesday nights as well as volunteering to assist with meals for funerals, showers, and other church events. Frankie was truly a special woman who will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Frankie is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Windle R. "Bob" Gibson; son, Donald Gibson; and siblings, Mary Maness, Katie Butler, Lottie Harris, Zula Porter, Mendy Evans, Flave McGilberry, and Ear Mae Westbrook.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary "Sissie" Grant (Rick); sister, Ann Riggins; sister-in-law, Evelyn Gibson; grandchildren, Heather Richardson (Will), Ross Henderson (Brittany), Thomas Gibson (Lauren), Stephen Gibson, Robert Grant (Leah), and Ricky Grant; great grandchildren, Harper Henderson, Charlie Henderson, Wood Richardson, Caroline Richardson, Anne Catherine Richardson, Jackson Gibson, Parker Gibson, Payton Gibson, Levi Grant, Adela Grant, Caleb Grant, Thomas Gibson, Wray Gibson, and Oakley Gibson; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends as well as special friends, Annie Carroll who was adopted into her family many years ago and was a special caregiver and Frankie's best friend, Marie Smith who may have joined her family a few months ago but quickly became a special caregiver and family friend: both of these people loved and cared for Frankie and were immensely important to the entire family.
