Freddie Courington

Freddie J. Courington, 67, a native of Coffeeville, passed away April 5, 2016 in a Florida hospital. A faithful member of the Church of Christ for more than 40 years. He joined the Air Force in 1969 and served for 22 years. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he earned numerous medals. After retiring from the service, he worked for SAKS as a project manager. A devoted husband and family man, he wanted to spend as much time with them as possible and will be missed greatly.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Della Salter Courington and Bruce Edward Courington, Sr. and brother, Bruce Courington, Jr.


He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Charlene Robinson Courington; sons, Rodney (Rebecca) Courington, Daniel (Anita) Courington; grandchildren, Grant Courington, Taylor Courington; siblings, Allen Courington, Don Courington, Jerry Courington, Ross Courington, Milton Courington, Denise Courington and Edna Payne.


Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Jones Chapel Church of Christ in Coffeeville with Bro. Phillip Box officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
