Garnet Lathan

Garnet Onita Lathan, 97, of Chatom, passed away August 2, 2018 at Washington County Nursing Home. She was born August 6, 1920 to William Denny and Elizabeth Copeland Wood. She was a homemaker and a member of Laton Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 47 years, Henry Floyd Lathan and siblings, Emmett Wood, Oscar Denny Wood, Floyd Wood, Ulas Wood, Jewel Wood Mosley, Ada Mae Wood Dearmon and Gladys Wood Douglas
She is survived by her children, Betty Jean Loper, Mary Lou (Terry) Miller, Norman (Ella Mae) Lathan, Imogene Lathan Odom; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 16 great, great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Laton Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Leland James officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Lathan, Mark Miller, Greg Miller, Tony Anderson, Brian Anderson and Rickey Davidson.
