Gayle Overton

Gayle Dolbare Overton, 79, of Jackson, passed away December 5, 2016 at Jackson Nursing Home. She was born October 22, 1937 to Tollie and Neutral Stanley Dolbare. She was a member of Stave Creek Baptist Church and had been employed by Greers. A family-oriented lady, she loved her grandchildren and enjoyed reading and cooking.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert James Overton, Sr. and siblings, Evelyn "Peggy" Parker, James Dolbare, John "Cooper" Dolbare and Reta McIntyre.



She is survived by children Cathy (VJ) Sellers of Jackson, Bobbie (Steve) Buchanan of Brierfield, Linda (Tommy) Bailey of Jackson, Robert (Angel) Overton, Jr. of Fairhope, Eric (Laura) Overton of Birmingham; siblings, Aliene Herrin of Mobile, Glenda Dolbare of Jackson, Ida Williams of Theodore, Betty Johnson of Millry, Mary Dolbare of Talking Rock, GA; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and special friend, John Fagan of Texas.



Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
