George E. “Buck” Bedsole, 78, of Grove Hill, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020 at SAAD Hospice in Mobile. He was born in Grove Hill on January 3, 1942 to Howard Woodrow Bedsole, Sr. and Nancy Jane Smith Bedsole. He was a co-owner of the B&F Farm Store in Grove Hill for many years and also did accounting work and taxes. He also worked for Barfield Furniture Store and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Grove Hill where he was a deacon and had taught Sunday School. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of The University of Alabama football team and the Atlanta Braves baseball team.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Minnie Mae Bedsole Mullins and Howard Woodrow Bedsole, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Betty McDonald Bedsole; daughter, Belinda (Michael) Tremlett; grandsons, William (Hannah) Tremlett, Matthew Tremlett; great-grandson, Will Tremlett; sister, Barbara Bedsole (Wayne) Pettis and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Grove Hill Town Cemetery with the Rev. Warren Huggins officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Chancey, Bobby Foreman, Barry Hoven, Blake McDonald, Jimmy McDonald, Rodney Mullins, Matthew Tremlett and William Tremlett.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Grace Baptist Church, Dan Barlow, Fred Hoven, Robert Johnson, Glenn McDonald, Earl Mullins and Wayne Pettis.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Gideons or any favorite charity.
