George Stoudenmire

George Davis Stoudenmire, 82, of Jackson, passed away June 6, 2017 at Mobile Infirmary. He was born October 21, 1934 to Hilliard and Madie Stoudenmire. He was a retired civil engineer with the U.S. Corps of Engineers in Mobile and a member of Pilgrim's Rest Primitive Baptist Church in Jackson. An Auburn University graduate, he was a devoted fan of the football team as well as of the Atlanta Braves baseball team. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he always taught his family to put God first.



He was preceded in death by his parents.



He is survived by his wife, Shirley Stoudenmire; children, Cindy (Stuart) Moss, Chris (James) Stoudenmire, Kelly Stoudenmire; grandchildren, Lance Baldwin, Aaron (Chelsea) Baldwin; sisters, Mary Gregory, Betty Geier and many other special friends and family.



Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Pilgrim's Rest Primitive Baptist Church in Jackson with the Revs. William Allison and John White officiating. Visitation will occur at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson from 9:30 - 11:30 am. Interment will follow the service at Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.



Pallbearers will be Kenneth Reeves, Bobby Brooks, Gerald Reeves, Aaron Baldwin, Lance Baldwin and James Sarhan.
