George White Sr.

George Edgar White, 75, of Whatley, AL, passed away on Saturday, November 08, 2014, at his home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Gosport Untied Methodist Church at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Gosport United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jack Wright will officiate.


A native of Mobile, AL, Mr. White had resided in Clarke County since 1985. Mr. White was born January 25, 1939 to William and Lou Ella Guy White. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during Desert Storm. In 1986, after military service, Mr. White and his family opened a general store in Gosport. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and running his store.


He is survived by his wife of 58 years Barbara White, four children, Catherine Nelson of Wagarville, AL George White Jr. (Michelle) of Gosport, AL, Beth Whatley of Gosport, AL, and Jayne Pylant ( Krandle) of Wagarville, AL, two Brothers, Johnny Presnall ( Jeannie) of Mobile, AL, Donald Presnall ( Sharon) of Mobile, AL and two sisters, Kathy Mallory ( Charlie) of Daphne, AL, and Karen Presnall of Daphne, AL, eleven grandchildren, Kirk Nelson, Jr. (Christi), Summer Williams (Jeremy), Katie Nelson (Robert Wright), Brandy Dement (Jamie), Chasity Brown (Lawton), David White (Sandra), Brian Murrah (Amber), Barbie Whatley, Spring Croom, Krandle Pylant, Jr., and twenty-two Great-Grandchildren.


The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Gosport United Methodist Church.
