Gerald Pugh

Gerald Beck "Gerry" Pugh, 83, of Jackson, passed away April 13, 2017 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1934 to Hughie B. "Shug" Pugh and Lomie Hare Pugh. He had been employed with Alabama Power for 42 years. He was also active in his community and loved to square dance. An active member at River Hill Baptist Church, he served as a deacon and music director for 52 years.



He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marilyn Mott Pugh.



He is survived by children, Vic (Judy) Pugh, Cheryl (Bob) Broadhead, Dawn (Brian) Hicks; grandchildren, Deanna Broadhead, Geri B. Roberts, Carrie (Chris) Harris, Erin P. (Kip) Hardin, Coley Pugh, Peyton (Trey) Atkins, Caroline Hicks, Molly Grace Hicks and great-grandchildren, Davin Roberts, Dylan Roberts, Walker Eady, Ansley Hardin, Abby Hardin, Ayden Hardin, Mason Atkins and Cooper Atkins.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at River Hill Baptist Church in Salitpa with the Revs. Henry Creel and William Bennett officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.



Pallbearers will be Davin Roberts, Dylan Roberts, Coley Pugh, Gary Hare, George Hudson and Sidney Hoven.
