Geraldine Lipscomb

Geraldine 'Gerry' Bankston Lipscomb, 83, of Grove Hill, passed away July 29, 2023, at the Washington County Nursing Home. She was born February 19, 1940, in Opelika to Arthur Leroy and Odell Berry Bankston. She retired after many years as a Logistics Coordinator with Huntsman Chemical. She enjoyed spending time with her family, always cooking something special for her kids and grandkids, she also enjoyed reading and watching her favorite T.V. shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Arthur Bankston Jr., Oscar Bankston, and sister Myrtis Roughton.

Survived by her children Tammy (Lyle) Beech, of Chatom, Stacey (Stan) Gilchrist, of Thomasville, Amy Newton, of Daphne, and William 'Robbie' Robert Lipscomb Jr., of Grove Hill, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, brother Gary (Wanda) Bankston, of Foley, and sister Nancy Cargill, of Opelika.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Washington County Nursing Home for the loving care they gave to their mother over the last 8 months. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gerry's memory to the Washington County Nursing Home at P.O. Box 1299 Chatom, AL 36518.

There will be a visitation from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill where friends and family can visit and share loving memories of Gerry.
