Gerry Stokes

Gerry Lee Stokes, 35, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at his residence. He was born May 23, 1983 to Gerry Woodard and Connie Leigh Odom Stokes in Grove Hill. He was employed as an operator with Clarke County Pole and Piling in Thomasville and was a member of Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson. An avid fisherman, he also loved spending time with his girls and watching Alabama football.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerry Woodard Stokes; brother, John Thomas Stokes; grandparents, John and Marion Ryser Odom, Woodard Stokes and uncle, John Wayne Odom.

He is survived by his mother, Connie Stokes; wife, Bobbie Holton; children, Jennifer Marie Stokes, Karli Lee Holton; grandmother, Annette Stokes; aunt, Sherrie (Mike) Kendrick; great aunt and uncle, Pam and Eddie Ryser; numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Brian Dukes officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until the service begins. Interment will follow at Bell-Parker cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Jody Ryser, Edward Ryser, Will O'Gwynn, Reggie Cooper, Matt Hendry, James Bradley, Jason Jones, Reggie Cooper and Scott Pezent.
