Gloria Mauldin

Gloria Gail Lankford Mauldin, 78, of Coffeeville, passed away, Monday, September 2, 2024, at Mobile Infirmary surrounded by family. She was born on Wednesday, August 21, 1946, in Chatom to parents, Vera Dykes Lankford and Hezekiah "Hez" Lankford. She had most recently been a resident at The Meadows in Jackson where she made many friends.

A loving wife, mother and Nana to her family, she was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed caring for her extended family and friends. She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church in Coffeeville and glorified God with an unshakeable faith throughout her life. She loved nothing more than flower gardens and watching the hummingbirds outside her window at The Meadows. Cooking and baking special dishes for family gatherings was among her favorite activities, as well as fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James A. Mauldin; sister, Clarice (Dempsey) Kimble and brothers, Roy D. "Butch" Lankford and Jeff (Val) Lankford.

She is survived by her children, Roxanne (Randy) Smith of Grove Hill, Jamie (Jessica) Mauldin of Coffeeville; grandchildren, Gailyn (Dylan) Allen of Rockville, Drew (Alyssa Webb) Smith of Grove Hill; stepsons who visited her frequently, Dickie Mauldin, Robbie Mauldin, both of Coffeeville; sister-in-law, Sharon Lankford and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Center Point Baptist Church with the Rev. Bailey Hill officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Dickie Mauldin, Robbie Mauldin, Greg Kimble, Jimmy Roney, Davey Lankford and Troy Lankford.

Honorary pallbearers will be all the staff and residents at The Meadows in Jackson.
