Hal Harper "Pee Wee" Johnson, 70, of Grove Hill, passed away April 19, 2019 at University Hospital in Mobile. He was born June 9, 1948 to Hal and Joyce Harper Johnson, both of whom preceded him in death. He was owner of H.H. Johnson Timber Company for many years, after which he was self-employed in the oil industry. He enjoyed racing boats, his dogs, Alabama football, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Allison Kelly (John) Johnson; grandchildren, Allison Virginia Johnson and Lauren Johnson (Andy) Slayton; great-grandchild, Justin Edward Slayton; brother, Lamar (Tyrelle) Johnson and nephew, Coleman Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill with Dr. Johnny Kendrick officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Magnolia Lawn Funeral Home in Grove Hill with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Danny Beard, Maurice Paul, Kirk Neal, Wayne Fendley, Wyndell Patterson and Bobby Dickinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Jackson, John Newsom, Gene Pritchett, Willie Welch, Craig Butts. Phillip Reynolds and Brandon Garrick.
