Harold E. Everhart, Jr., 70, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Mobile Infirmary. He was born in Grove Hill on December 28, 1949, to Harold E. Everhart, Sr. and Katie Walker Everhart. He had been employed at Boise Cascade (now PCA), for 25 years, where he was a Fire Systems Specialist and oversaw the safety program as well as being a mechanic 5. He had also served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was a member and past deacon at Forest Avenue Baptist Church and the Masons.
He served on the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department for thirty years and was at one time the Fire Chief and even taught classes with the Alabama Fire College. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, mechanic work, camping, building most anything and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Dana Kathryn Everhart.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Everhart; children, Lisa Everhart (Chris) Yokley, Harold Grant Everhart; grandchildren, Noah Yokley, Isaac Yokley, Weston Everhart; sisters, Kay (Charles) Burge, Fay (Kenny) Johnson and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Pine Crest Cemetery in Jackson with Dr. Ben Stubblefield officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Neal Bradley, Bobby Brooks, Pat Dolbear, Chris Johnson, Larry Nall, Jonathan Skipper, Steve Williams and Chris Yokley.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department or Forest Avenue Baptist Church.
