Harry-O Hamilton, 79, of Jackson, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at Jackson Medical Center. He was born October 13, 1940 to Floyd Monroe Hamilton and Mattie Rester Hamilton in Grand Bay. He was employed for 38 years as a millwright with Boise Cascade and served in the U.S. National Guard. A member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Jackson, he was a passionate golfer, a small-engine repairman and an avid fan Auburn University football.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lena J. Harvey Hamilton and siblings Beatrice Pitts and Thelma Minchew.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas Scott (Jamie) Hamilton, Ken W. Hamilton; grandchildren, Alexis Hamilton, Abigail Hamilton, Cody Hamilton, Laila Hamilton, Chase Hamilton, Haleigh Gulino, Mallory Hamilton, Madalyn Hamilton; siblings, Betty Mai, Bobby Hamilton and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Lathan Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Gaillard officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Serenity Gardens in Theodore with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be William Mai, Heath Guy, Billy Sellers, Walt Rotch, David Beck and Cody Hamilton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Alday, Walter Loper, Mirko Pezent, Oliver Goldman, Gerald Guy, Roger Pettis and the retired maintenance crew of Boise Cascade.
