Harvey Anthony “Tony” Pierce, 81, of Daphne and formerly of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2020 at his residence. He was born May 2, 1938 to Grady Anthony Pierce and Edith Marie Young Pierce in Fulton, MS. He retired from Boise Cascade as a power house operator and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. A former member of the First Assembly of God Church in Jackson, he became a member at Three Circle Church in Daphne after he moved there. He was also a member of the Jackson Golf Club and enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren, especially watching their sports events.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Willie Pierce.
He is survived by his wife, Merilyn Cumlander Pierce; children, Oveta Burkhart, Stephen (Torrie) Pierce; grandchildren, Makenna Pierce, Karsen Pierce, Kaden Pierce, Rayla Pierce; brothers, Danny (Linda) Pierce, Bill (Janet) Pierce and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with the Rev. Scott Myers officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Colby Myers, Lonnie Moore, Dane Daugherty, David Cumlander, Ron Cumlander and Harvey Martin.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Southern Cancer Center, 29653 Anchor Cross Blvd, Daphne, AL 36526.
