Hattie Lou Hazel Cantrell Loper, 99, of Millry, passed away May 17, 2021. She was born November 7, 1921, at Young Bend Community in Tennessee to Duke McDonald Cantrell and Nancy Evelyn Luna Cantrell. Hattie has been a resident of Millry since 1945. She loved reading her Bible, her favorite scripture was John 14, 1-4.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Jerry Loper Sr., son, Larry Mark Loper, grandson, Jon Arland Loper, great grandson, Robert Cain Walker. Brothers, Moses A. Cantrell, James A. Cantrell, Johnny J. Cantrell, Andy S. Cantrell. Sisters, Ruth B. Prater, Candice Ester Cantrell, Lilllie P. Kirby, Tamer C. Kirby, Nannie V. Mullican, Mina Omega Cantrell, Ellen L. Howell.
Left to cherish her memories are, sons, James I. (Judy) Loper, Charles J. (Loretta) Loper Jr., Garry G. (Libby) Loper, Leland F. (Judy) Loper. Nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
The family of Hattie Loper would like to thank her home care givers, Faye McRae and Doris Lee for their wonderful help, and to the Washington County Nursing Home staff for the wonderful care she received there.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Kimbrough Cemetery in Millry, with a visitation for family and friends starting at 2 p.m. at the cemetery. Pastors, Dr. Billy Kindrick and Randy Billingsley officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
