Helen Hesse Skipper, 68, of Jackson, passed away on October 24, 2022, after an unexpected illness, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born on October 11, 1954 in Selma, Alabama and was adopted by her parents Robertson C. and Elizabeth Jones Hesse. She lived in Mountain Brooke, Alabama and later moved to Severna Park, Maryland and graduated from Severna Park High School in 1972, before attending and graduating from the University of Alabama. Her energy and passion for serving others truly benefitted everyone in "Helen's little world". She was an avid 'Bama fan and never missed a chance to attend a home game. She was always the life of the tailgate, whether on campus or at Lake Joe Joe. Helen served as matriarch of her family with love and loyalty.
Preceded in death by her father Robertson C. Hesse.
Survived by her husband Joe Carmichael Skipper, daughter Courtney (John 'Cal') Reeves, son Johnathan Carmichael (Lea Bolen) Skipper, and her grandchildren, who lovingly called her 'Bams'; Mary Elizabeth Reeves, Isabella Carmichael Skipper, Nathan Carmichael Skipper, Jullian Claire Skipper, and her mother Elizabeth Jones Hesse, of Severna Park, Maryland.
