Helen Syphrit

Helen I. Syphrit, 77, of Jackson, passed away August 27, 2024. Helen was born July 10, 1947 to Elton L. and Mary E. Brown. Helen was a member of Peniel Baptist Church and a beloved member of this community. She could be found most mornings at Hardee's in Jackson enjoying a thoroughly browned biscuit which most people would consider burnt but she would make a special request for. Helen had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. "I've got a little funny for ya" was the start to many wonderful visits.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Dedra Brinson; step-son, Charles Syphrit, Jr; step-daughter, Becky Syphrit Finn; sister, Janet Allison; companion and special friend, Reese Mott; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William C. "Billy" Syphrit, Sr; and granddaughter, Lindsey DeShea Syphrit.

Services will be held Friday, August 30, 2024 at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Fred Odom, officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens.

Active Pallbearers will be John Carter, John Martin Carter, Mike Syphrit, Hunter Tidwell, Dylan Stamey and Robbie Finn.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Shields, Doug Atchison, Michael Phillips, Richard Harvey, Gaye Walker, Leon Allison, and Wayne Lathan.
