Herman Reid

Herman Floyd Reid, 90, passed away on April 14, 2024. Mr. Reid was born December 29, 1933 to W.V. and Essie Reid. Mr. Reid was a resident of Jackson where he was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Reid was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his family dearly. He and his wife enjoyed many trips to the mountains with dear couple-friends through the years.

Mr. Reid is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 61 years, Rita M. Reid; son, Tim Reid; and grandson, Judson Reid.

He is survived by his son, Randy Reid; brother, Lamar Reid (Ann); sister-in-law, Pam Hoven; grandchildren, Misty Reid, Casey Henley, Jon Foster Reid, Andie Beasley, Becky Johnson, Brittany Reid and Braxton Reid; 11 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Visitation will be from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson. Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Bro. Brian Jemison and Bro. Philip McDuffie officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jim Reid, Mike Hoven, Mark Criswell, Billy Holder, Jon Foster Reid and Jacob Smith.
