Horace Daniel Schultz, 82, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Camden Nursing Home. He was born in Grove Hill on May 25, 1938 o Archie Schultz and Lucy West Schultz. An active member of Stave Creek Baptist Church, he has served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher and was a member of the church choir. He was also a member of Kingdom Builders and had been employed as a logistical scheduler at Boise Cascade. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, farming and yard work.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lori Schultz Syphrit; grandson, Daniel Wade and siblings, Bertie Lee Schultz Goodwin, William Sidney Schultz, D.C. Schultz, Theodore Roosevelt “Ted” Schultz, Margie Schultz Wimberly, Marie Schultz Moore, Irene Schultz Kinman, Alma Schultz Sims, W.A. Schultz, Jr., Douglas Edward Schultz, Gloria Schultz and Winnie Rea Schultz Ross.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Stringer Schultz; daughters, Sonya Schultz (Marvin) Myer, Angela Schultz (James) Wade; grandchildren, Kirk (Molly) Myer, Kent (Ashlyn) Myer, Mollie Wade, Andrew Wade; great-grandchildren, Callie Myer, Jack Myer; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Stave Creek Baptist Cemetery with the Dr. Ray McKenzie and Dr. Glen Bridges officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Glen Bridges, Justin Bridges, Larry Jones, Kent Myer, Kirk Myer and Andrew Wade.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations in his memory be made to Pilots for Chris, P.O. Box 707, Monroeville, AL 36461 or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
