Imogene Lathan Odom Dickey, of Chatom, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. She was 85. Imogene was born on October 19, 1938, in Laton Hill, Alabama, to Henry Floyd and Garnet Wood Lathan. She was a graduate of Washington County High School, where she was valedictorian of the 1956 senior class. Imogene worked at the Washington County Agricultural and Conservation Service for over forty years and the Washington County Circuit Clerk's office for ten years. She was a member of Laton Hill Baptist Church.
Imogene is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Norman (Ella Mae) Lathan. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Dickey; three daughters, Pamela (Rickey) Davidson of Gulf Shores, Lynn (Tony) Anderson of Chatom, and Alisa (Brian) Sanderson of Millry; two sisters, Betty (Jay) Loper and Lou (Blue) Miller; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Imogene's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Alzheimer's Association, two charities near and dear to her heart.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, at Laton Hill Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior to services. Bro. Don Whigham, Dr. Robert Kirkland, and Bro. Jamie Lay officiating and Lathan Funeral Home Directing.
Pallbearers will be Greg Miller, Darrell Lathan, Lonnie Loper, Terry Williams, Elvin Laton, and Derek Scarbrough.
Honorary pallbearers are Chelsie Williams, Jenna McKinley, Tyler Sanderson, Colby Sanderson, and Jon-Michael Davidson.
