Isiah Lee Tarver, 85, of Chatom, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born in Millry on April 5, 1935 to Claude Franklin Tarver and Pearly L. Carney Tarver. He had been employed as a truck driver with Angeline Trucking in Chatom and was a member of Tibbie Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and loved to play softball.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sabrina Cartwright; granddaughter, Mechelle Dungan and siblings, Edward Tarver, Franklin Tarver, Ben Tarver, Geneva Buckley, Elvira Sheets and Lavay Denham.
He is survived by his wife, Voncille L. Tarver; daughters, Paula Taylor, Lisa Miller, Carla (George) Jordan, Karen Beech, Tanya (Danny) Howard, Teena Turner; siblings, Mildred Strickland, Mary Allday, Dan Tarver, BoBo Tarver, Robert Tarver; thirteen grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great, great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Tallie-Loper Cemetery in Chatom with the Revs. Earnest Tucker and Woody Baughn officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Danny Howard, Craig Jordan, George Jordan, Luke Jordan, Winston Tarver and Jerry Taylor.
