James Bailey

James Bailey, (Jim or JW) a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on May 5, 2023 at the age of 86. Jim loved God, First Presbyterian Church, his family and many friends. He enjoyed gardening, Alabama football, fishing, and riding his tractor. He graduated from Frisco City High School and graduated from Livingston University before working at and retiring from Ciba-Geigy.

He was born on September 14, 1936 to Lyda Dunn Bailey and Burrel Bailey, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 3 years Jarilyn Bailey; his children, daughter, Robbie Bailey Harrison, and sons, James W. Bailey, Jr. (Kim), Christopher Alan Bailey (Suzanne) and Richard Dunn Bailey (Kristi); grandchildren Jacob Harrison (Mollie), Madison Settle (Bryar), Caroline Bailey, Griffin Hansen (Joy), Sarah Turner (Brady), Harris Bailey and Julia Bailey; great grandchildren, Ethan, Baylee and Wyatt Harrison and Graham Settle; sister Laurine Pugh(Albert).

He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Dorothy Alba Bailey; his brother Burrel (Junior) Bailey, Jr.; and sister Francis Coleman.

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday May 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church of Jackson with a memorial service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Taylor Morgan officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in Jim's name to First Presbyterian Church of Jackson.
