James Butts

James Franklin "Bo" Butts, 74, of Semmes, passed away August 30, 2017 at his residence. He was born March 5, 1943 to William Thomas and Aline Curry Butts. After serving in the U.S. Army, he was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a core driller. He was also an avid fan of Alabama football.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Koen Butts; daughter, Cheryal (David) Alldredge; grandson, Wyatt Alldredge; siblings Jerry (Pat) Butts, Charlotte Hilt and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends.


Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with the Rev. Ferrell Mills officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Healing Springs in Millry with Lathan Funeral Home directing.


Pallbearers will be Adam Grimes, Bubba Butts, Justin Koen, Dewayne Dew, Tony Grimes and Mitchell Beasley.
