James 'Jim' Donald Eastman, 66, of Chatom, passed away on December 6, 2022. Jim was born on June 25, 1956 in Union City, Pennsylvania. His family moved to Grove Hill, Alabama when he was eight years old. He graduated from Clarke Preparatory Academy in 1974. He attended Livingston University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business in 1978. Jim had many professional endeavors, some of those included working for Scott Paper Company, horticulture businesses and Chatom Motor Company, all before owning The Feed Mill in Waynesboro, Mississippi.
Anyone who knew Jim was touched by his kindness, sense of humor and love of his family. He was an amazing father who loved his children more than anything else in the whole world. He was the best pawpaw to his grandchildren who truly adored him.
Jim had so many great friends and never meet a stranger. If he was not cracking jokes in town, dropping off a bag of feed or ordering flowers, you could find him outside working in his yard. One of his favorite pastimes was skiing and boating on the Tombigbee River.
Preceded in death by his parents Frank (Deke) and Bernice Wallace Eastman, and sister Nancy Eastman Harp.
Survived by his son Jonathan (Rachel) Eastman, daughter Brittany (Bradley) Ethridge, brother John (Lynn) Eastman, sister Peggy Eastman Weldon and five grandchildren Langston, Jax, Layla, Honor, and Branson.
A Celebration of Life honoring Jim Eastman will be held at his home in Chatom, Alabama on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
