James Robert "Jimmy" Hudson, 79, of Salitpa, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at SAAD Hospice in Mobile. He was born in Clarke County on Tuesday, August 11, 1942 to Willard Hudson and Bertha Motes Hudson. He retired as Superintendent of Operations in 2019 after a 49 ½ year career with Clarke Washington Electric Membership Cooperation (CWEMC). A member of the H. Clay Armstrong Masonic Lodge, he was also a member of River Hill Baptist Church and a cattle farmer. He loved tending his farm, traveling, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ray Hudson.
He is survived by his wife Judy Hudson; children, Heather Hudson (Rick) Godwin, James Brandon (Heather) Hudson; grandchildren, Caitlyn Godwin, Chloe Godwin, Haley Hudson, Andrew Hudson; siblings, Harold (Dorothy) Hudson, Willodean (James) Foster, Billy Hudson, Bertha (Jr.) Carpenter and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at River Hill Baptist Church in Jackson with the Revs. Scott Myers and Wilton Bennett officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Tony Beck, Tim Carpenter, Jeremy Hudson, Zach Keith, Ralph Rogers and Richard Wagner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Chancey, Glen Chancey, Rodney Chancey, Daryl Chapman, Canaan Hare, Mac Henley, Leroy Mitchell and Robert Overstreet.
