James A. Mauldin, 81, of Grove Hill, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Covenant Care Hospice, Providence in Mobile. He was born in Coffeeville on November 8, 1939 to Leslie Mauldin and Sadie Pugh Mauldin. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church in Coffeeville and had been self-employed in the timber industry for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and playing country and bluegrass music on guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Sadie Ray Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Mauldin; children, Dickie Alvin Mauldin, Robbie Allen Mauldin, Marie Autry, Tammy Overstreet, Roxanne (Randy) Smith, Jamie (Jessica) Mauldin; grandchildren, Jessica Autry, Blake Autry, Earnest (Jeri) Gilchrist, Cody Overstreet, Sarah Gilchrist, Hunter (Chad) Goldman, Gailyn Smith, Drew Smith, Darcie Mauldin; great-grandchildren, Josie Autry, Elen Autry, Collin Burford, Emma Nettles, Rosalie Gilchrist, Ethan Gilchrist, Caleb Gilchrist, Henry James Goldman and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2021at Center Point Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Wilton Bennett officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Blake Autry, Greg Kimble, Cody Overstreet, Drew Smith, Ethan Webb and Tyler Webb.
Roy Webb and Johnny Skipworth will be honorary pallbearers.
