James "Paperclip" Nelson

James "Paperclip" Stuart Nelson, 35, of Tibbie by way of Pomona, CA passed October 28, 2022. James was born September 3, 1987. James was a special and colorful soul who had the ability to make those around him feel like they had known him for years even after just a short time. He was the type of person one could count on to be there in times of joy and need.

As any who knew him can attest, James dressed to impress with his matching hat, socks, and shoes. He was also a fan of great music, listening to a wide variety of genres - although country was not his favorite. A huge fan of a variety of sports, James loved football best of all, especially his favorite team of all time, his beloved Green Bay Packers! Among his other interest, James loved Florida, animals, Tabasco, Hot Cheetos, Fireball and skateboarding. He was also proud of his tattoos including Chester Cheetah, the Tampa skyline, California, an alligator and his special" MD" tattoo which held a special meaning only his brothers knew.

James will be fondly remembered as a one-of-a-kind man; loving and kind, he was always joking to get a smile from others and was always there to help those in need. He had the most beautiful smile and eyes, was almost always full of joy and lived his life as he wanted. He was a momma's boy and loved his nieces and nephews to pieces. To know him was to love him.

James is preceded in death by his sister, Amy Otis; nephew, Ricardo; Grandma, Sandi and Great Grandma's Bridges and McDaniel.

James is survived by his parents, Billy and Darlene Otis; siblings, Victoria Nelson, Christopher Nelson, Bryan (Patricia) Otis, Andrea Pope, and Brandon (Nobu) Otis; nephews, Dylan, Cason, Caleb, Caden, Camen, Preston, Jason, and Anthony; nieces, Kelsey, Iris whom James nicknamed "Booga", Julianne, Sinead, Sophia, and Kamila; as well as a host of other relatives and friends from across the nation.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.
