Janice Carter Boykin, 61, of Fruitdale, passed away on March 22, 2024, at The Retreat at SAAD Hospice in Mobile. She was born in Butler, Alabama on November 28, 1962, to parents Leon and Jane Carter. She worked for the US Postal Service and retired from after 20 years of service. She enjoyed time at home relaxing, visiting with friends, and spending as much time as she could with her family.
She is preceded in death by her son Chris Boykin, brother Ronnie Carter, and her parents.
Survived by her husband of 44 years Alton Boykin, daughter Heather (Brandon) Brown, grandsons Nate Boykin, Parker Brown, Hugh Brown, and Luke Brown. Siblings Virginia Norris, Betty Frazier, Cliff Carter, Conrad Carter, and Andrew Carter, also her in laws Ann (Kenny) Smith, Russel Boykin, Daniel (Audrey) Boykin. A large extended family of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Boykin, Marvin Welford, Scott Smith, Andrew Carter, Jeromy Wilson, and Michael Walley.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom and Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Four Points Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior to services.
