Ida Jean Johnson Deese, 88, of Leroy, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at her residence. She was born August 5, 1930 to Levy and Ida White Johnson in Vernon, FL. A homemaker, she was a huge fan of George Jones and the television program, Full House. She also enjoyed fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edgar Deese; grandson, Matthew Douglas and numerous siblings.
She is survived by her children, Gloria Douglas of Alford, Fl, Richard (Betsy) Douglas of Leroy; grandchildren, Timothy (Ashley) Douglas, Walter (Angela) Douglas; great-grandchildren, Logan Douglas, Emily Douglas; brother, Ronnie (Joyce) Johnson of Southport, FL and her pet Chihuahua, Missy.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at New Leroy Baptist Cemetery in Leroy with the Rev. David Cooper officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson.
Pallbearers will include Timothy Douglas and Walter Douglas.
