Jean Harrison Skipper, 88, of Grove Hill, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2022, in her home. She was born June 4, 1934, to Charles Travis and Eula Perry Harrison. Jean married Hal Skipper and reared their children in the town of Grove Hill. She worked for both General Supply and Barfield Furniture Company as a bookkeeper. She was a faithful member of Grove Hill Baptist Church and served many callings there. Her passion was singing for the Lord in the choir. She had a servant's heart and loved to bring joy to others by sharing her God-given talents. She was an outstanding seamstress and loved to make intricate french patterned pieces for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing dominos with friends and working at jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Mrs. Skipper adored her family and loved spending time with each and every one.
She is preceded in death by her husband Hal Roache Skipper and brothers Travis Harrison and Perry Harrison.
She is survived by her children Neena (Basil) McNeely of Mobile, AL, Scott (Gina) Skipper of Grove Hill, AL, and Barry Skipper of Grove Hill, AL; grandchildren Isaac (Amie) McNeely of Auburn, AL, Lindsey (Samuel) Ladnier of Chesterfield, VA, Abbey McNeely of Brooklyn, NY, Cory (Janine) Skipper of Orange Beach, AL, and Jessica Skipper of Monroeville, AL; six great grandchildren, sister Carol Martin, and many other extended family members and loving friends.
Pallbearers will be Clay Dickinson, Matt Harrison, Stan Hutto, J.W. Reeves, and grandsons Isaac McNeely and Cory Skipper.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Grove Hill Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior to services.
