Jeremiah 'Jay' Corbitt

May 16, 1975 — February 27, 2021

Jeremiah 'Big Jay' Corbitt, 45, passed away February 27, 2021 while doing what he loved to do, coaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He was born May 16, 1975. Jay was a resident of Jackson, but his heart always belonged to DMV (Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia). Jay owned and operated his own Academy, he taught combative martial arts with his focused love of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Jay made friends wherever he went and held a close relationship with his friends in the MMA and martial arts community.

Jay was survived by his wife of 20 years, Charie, his princess, Milan, mother, Verna, and brother, Dave. Also, many extended family and friends across the country and world.

Viewing for family and friends will be Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson, AL., and Wednesday March 10, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with funeral services to begin at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home. Interment at Magnolia Lawn Cemetery, Grove Hill, AL. Rev. Brian Dukes will be officiating services. Funeral services will be livestreamed, access obituary through www.lathanfuneralhome.com
