Jerry Carpenter Sr.

Jerry Coy Carpenter, Sr., 89, of Millry, passed away April 26, 2016 at his residence. He was born April 6, 1927. A deacon at Three Forks Baptist Church, one of his favorite scriptures that he frequently quoted was 1 Corinthians: 10:13. He had retired from the U.S. Navy and CIBA, and one of his favorite hobbies was fishing.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Mirah Carpenter and Mary Ann Henson Carpenter; brothers, Andy Carpenter, Nollie Carpenter and grandchildren, Cassie Carpenter Rivers and Ashley Helena Roberts.


He is survived by his wife, Mildred Carpenter of Millry; sons, Jerry Coy (Cathy) Carpenter, Jr. of Millry, Randall Earl Carpenter of Millry, Wayne (Susan) Carpenter of French Settlement, LA, Larry (Lisa) Carpenter of Millry; brother, Sammy Gray (Mary Lynn) Carpenter of Millry; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Three Forks Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Dean officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
