Jewel P. Beverly, 94, of Jackson, passed away December 25, 2020 at Jackson Health Care Facility. She was born in Coffeeville on August 19, 1926 to Albert B and Viola Mauldin Pugh. She was a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church and had been employed at Vanity Fair as a machine operator. Her hobbies included flower gardening and crochet. She also enjoyed her church work which included teaching Sunday School and visiting with the elderly and taking care of their needs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tommy Beverly and siblings, Burnard L. Pugh, Eunice Gunter and Leola Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Nathan T. Beverly; siblings, Earl B. (Bernice) Pugh, Betty P. Allday, Dorothy P. (Howard) Jones, Mary (Bobby) Hinson and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Trinity Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Danny Chancey officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Allday, Ralph Gunter, Steven Hinson, Brian Long, Dwight Pugh and Gary Smith.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home or Forest Avenue Baptist Church.
