Jimmy Horton

Jimmy Lee Horton, 84, of Jackson passed away February 23, 2025 with loved ones by his side. Jimmy was born February 13, 1941 to Richard and Eva Horton. Jimmy was a simple, Southern man who enjoyed pond fishing, turkey hunting, and helping others. Each of Mr. Jimmy's grandchildren will cherish their memories of learning to turkey hunt with him even if they didn't inherit his passion for it. Jimmy had a talent for making knives and making conversation. He had retired from Vanity Fair, served 40+ years firefighting, was a member of the Scottish Rite, and had 52+ years in with the Masons currently with the H Clay Armstrong Lodge #544 in Salitpa.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Terri Denson, and six siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Willodean B. Horton; children, Michael (Wendie) Horton and Renee Horton; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 4 siblings.

Graveside service with Masonic Rites will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Winn Community Cemetery with Joe Bedwell officiating.
