JoAnn Savage Williams, 83, died Tuesday, May 23, 2023. JoAnn was born December 11, 1939 to Dr. Palmer Sr. and Billie Warren. She was a resident of Jackson where she was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church. JoAnn was a servant to those in need and a caretaker to her family.
In her younger years she was very active in the Women's Club as well as the Garden Club where at one time she assisted with the Junior Garden Club. JoAnn was an inspiring homemaker; a stickler who ensured her home ran smoothly and her family was well cared for. JoAnn was also the decorator of the family; she loved to be creative and add her touch to spaces.
Later in life JoAnn spent her time porch-sitting; simply relaxing while watching the hummingbirds flit around and the cars drive by. She loved her family and was so very proud of each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents; spouses, John Lee Savage Sr. and Sonny Williams; son, John Lee Savage Jr and sister, Diane Hartley.
She is survived by her son, Jeff (Martha) Savage; step-children, Geary (Renee) Williams and Bridget (James) Weaver; 12 grandchildren and many, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Taylor Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Active pallbearers will be Lee Savage, Trey Graham, Will Savage, A.J. Savage, Willie Williams and John Richard Weaver.
