John David Knight, 91, of Jackson, passed away October 18, 2017 at Mobile Infirmary. He was born October 19, 1925 to Nod and Ruby Knight. He had served in the U.S. Navy and had been employed as a machinist with Boise Cascade and had also worked in the plumbing industry. His favorite hobbies included fishing, farming and watching Alabama football.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Knight and first wife, Marie Fendley Knight.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Knight; sisters, Peggy Armstead, Patsy Clanton; four nephews, Rickie Clanton, Seab Hicks, Gabe Hicks, Arlis Hicks and three nieces, Twila Beverly, Angie Demouy and Jackie Horne.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Stave Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Frank Kirksey, Rev. Danny Chancey and Rev. Andi Goode officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Seab Hicks, Gabe Hicks, Arlis Hicks, Rickie Clanton, Jim Roberts, Barry Chancey, Jody Dyess and Alex Hicks.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School Class at Stave Creek Baptist Church and George McIntyre, III.
