John Moore

John "Bert" Bertram Moore, 55, of Orange Beach, AL passed away November 1, 2017. Mr. Moore was born November 3, 1961 to John Coleman and Mary Moore. He was a native of Clarke County and resident of Orange Beach. Mr. Moore was a member of Fulton Baptist Church. Mr. Moore enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1981. He served for four years before transferring to the National Guard, where he served until being honorably discharged as Company Commander in 2002. He was president of the 1990 Alabama Police Academy class. Mr. Moore attended the University of South Alabama where he studied Criminal Justice and Sociology. He had also worked for the Wildlife Fish and Game Office as well as having been an investigator for the Clarke County D.A.'s office.


Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Sharon W. Moore of Orange Beach; parents John and Mary Moore; children, John F. (Chelsea) Moore of Gosport and Jennifer M. (Brian) Stephani of Milton, FL; sister Suellen Moore (Mike) Good of Auburn; niece Jessica Good (Grant) Kirkland of Jasper, IN; nephew David Good of Japan; uncle Boykin Moore (Connie) of Ormond by the Sea, FL; step-children, Seana Salter, Michael (Olivia) Weaver, Brendan Weaver, Meagan (Adam) Lovell; grandchildren, Gracie Stephani, Max Stephani, and Piper Moore; step-grandchildren, Syrus Jones, Sydney Jones, Andrew Weaver, Emma Weaver, and Madison Weaver.


Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Lathan Funeral Home, Grove Hill. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. when the service begins. Interment will follow in Gosport Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.lathanfuneralhomes.com. Pallbearers will be Brad Larrimore, Sr., Brad Larrimore, Jr., Cal Mullins, Derrill Larrimore, Adam Lovell, Brendan Weaver, Chad Larrimore, and Mike Good.
