John Morgan

John Gilliam Morgan, 78, of Jackson, passed away on August 20, 2024, surrounded by love. He was born on September 2, 1945, to his parents, John Grady Morgan and Frances Elizabeth Sellers Morgan.

John worked for Allied Paper company for many years. In John's younger days he enjoyed farming and working with cows on the farm. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. The greatest singer in John's opinion was the legendary George Jones. He loved to listen to his music!

John was a humble country man that enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved his family and enjoyed his friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jan Morgan, granddaughter Leah Everett and sister Evelyn Miller.

Survived by his daughter Gina (Larry) Powell, grandchildren: Lindsey (Randell) Overstreet, Lauren (Andy) Slaton, and Colton Powell, great- grandchildren: Kinley Taylor, Sawyer Overstreet, Caroline Overstreet, Beau Overstreet, Justin Slayton, John Edward Slayton, Ann Russell Slayton.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday August 26, 2024 at Gainestown United Methodist Church Cemetery with Bro. Mark Dunn officiating.
