John G. "Johnny" Paul, 74, of Eastaboga, AL, left his earthly home on September 16, 2021. He was born to Alvin Curtis Paul and Annie Mae Paul on January 31, 1947. He retired from the Alabama Wildlife and Fish Hatcheries in 2011. He was a world traveler and was able to visit all the continents and many of the National Parks in the United States and Canada. He enjoyed the outdoors and wildlife, but he also loved and enjoyed Alabama football. He was a sports expert on games and scores. On August 16, 2021 at 6:30 p.m., Dr. Hunter Boggs, a dear friend, led him to The Lord.
He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Ann Paul Fell; brother-in-law, Ray Fell; nieces, Alison (Gary) Bandy, Ashley (Jimmy) Blue; nephew, Kirk (Julie) Fell; great nieces and nephews, Skylar Case, Hannah Fell, Olivia Fell, Eli Fell, Mason Case; dear friends, Jerry Moss, Dr. Hunter Boggs and Dr. Walker Boggs.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Union Baptist Church in Grove Hill with the Revs. Carey Howard and Richard Paul officiating. Elaine Tarleton will be responsible for a reading. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Gary Bandy, Dr. Mike Patterson, Andrew Paul, Bradley Paul, Mike Paul and Richard Paul.
