Joseph Baugh

Joseph Edward Baugh, 53, of Whatley, AL, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014, at UAB Hospital. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at 2:30 pm at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill. Interment will follow in Whatley Cemetery. Rev. Leon Harrison will officiate.


Mr. Baugh grew up in Greenwood, AL and had resided in the Whatley area since 1980. He was a Maintenance Superintendent at General Sheet Metal. Mr. Baugh coached girl's softball at Clarke Prep and Jackson Academy. He also coached city league girl's softball and pee wee football. He was avid softball and football player and a huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He was preceded in death by his mother Jeanette Baugh, brother, Donald Ray Baugh, and father and mother-in-law, Harry and Ruth Spidle.


He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Anne Baugh of Whatley, father, Tommy Lee Baugh, Sr. of Grove Hill, AL, three daughters, Jami Lyn Faust (Jacob) of Jackson, AL, Jodi Elizabeth Parker (Jonathan) of Meridian, MS, and Jenna McKenzie Baugh of Whatley, AL, a niece/adopted daughter, Kristina Quay Baugh of Grove Hill, AL, two brothers, Tommy Lee Baugh, Jr. (Nancy) of Grove Hill, AL and Benard Baugh of Gulf Shores, AL, a sister, Linda Elmore (Billy) of Dixon Mills, AL, and a granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth Wilson, also known to her Papa as "Pea Picker".


The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill.
